Area Lighting Service

Application

Applicable to Customers taking the type of service described in this rate schedule for pole mounted area area lighting near the Cooperative’s electric distribution lines. connected load and operating conditions.

Not applicable for temporary, construction or shared service.

Type of Service

Single-Phase Service at the Cooperative’s standard secondary distribution voltages.

Area lighting equipment, including lamps, fixtures, control units, and the necessary security lighting circuits, transformers and additional guys and fittings, will be furnished by the Cooperative.

Cost of replacing luminaries, or parts thereof which have been damaged by persons other than employees of the Cooperative performing their normal duties in installing and servicing the street lamps, will be billed to the Customer as a separate item during the year in which such damage occurs. Lamp replacement will be by the Cooperative at the Cooperative’s expense.

Monthly Rate

Each billing period the Customer shall be obligated to pay the following charges:

Mercury vapor lights are being discontinued and will be replaced with High-Pressure sodium lights as the Mercury Vapor lights require maintenance.

Billing Adjustments.

This rate is subject to all applicable billing adjustments. Billing adjustments each billing period shall be based on the following estimates of energy usage if energy usage is not metered:

Agreement.

If a line extension is required in order to provide service to a consumer, an agreement for electric service with a fixed term or contribution in aid to construction may be required by the Cooperative. This rate schedule may be changed by order or consent of regulatory authorities having jurisdiction, or if none, by the Cooperative’s board of directors; service hereunder is subject to the Cooperative’s tariff for electric service.

Vandalism.

Cooperative reserves the right to stop billing and remove from service any area light that becomes a frequent target of vandalism.
